The knowing, Are we in the knowing?
The Knowing, Are we in the Knowing?
What does today’s spirituality mean in American society? Some would say a lot, however as time goes by, and the government puts more and more limits on us it would seem that spirituality has gone out the window.
There was a time when we could pray before football games, or when we said or salute it has “In God We Trust”; but now all that is gone. So I ask my self what else will be taken away from us. This country was built on a strong religion base, no matter how imperfect it may be, in all we did, we did it under “God’s protection”. Thus the “In God we trust” in our salute and on our currency, but if the government takes that away who will we trust in then?
Diversity is a wonderful thing I will be the first to say, however the more diverse as a country we become the more divided as a country we become. Everyone gets offended from one religion to the other, yet this country was founded on the bases of being able to worship who you please. Wasn’t that why the settlers ran from Europe in the first place? To be able to worship who they wanted? Yet now we can barely say god bless you to another person without that person getting offended.
So why take God out of the schools or away from our salute? To please those who may not believe? , but if it is a public school shouldn’t beliefs be public as well? It is protected under the first amendment, and where will the believers go if the non-believers rule the world? If the government is pushing God out to please the non-believers then why was the President swore in with the bible? Or why do we not allow Gays to marry? Do we as Americans fit God in to place whenever we want things to go our way? I think that if we (the government) choose to go by the laws of the bible then we should go by all the laws not just the ones that may fit into what we may want to accomplish. I follow all rules, granted it is hard but I do, I think the Government should do the same thing. Psalms 2:10, 12 “ So kings be wise, rulers listen to this lesson, obey the Lord with great fear, be happy but tremble, show you are loyal to his son, or be destroyed by his anger, because he can quickly get angry. Happy are those who trust in him for protection”. Let’s all get into the knowing, and not let the government dictate our lives, at least when it comes to our religion. In God we trust should be put back into our salute and praying in schools should be allowed. If we don’t have faith and spirituality then what are we left with?
